Seeking Producer for Transformational Documentaries

For two years I have been inviting documentary filmmakers to join what I call “The New Documentary Movement”, a rising tide of non-fiction films that inspire rather than depress viewers.

I am currently seeking a co-producer to join my production company New Doc Films to create transformational films.

These “transformational documentaries” are stirring, solution-oriented films that will help midwife the greatest planetary change humanity has seen.

In the words of futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard, “We are moving from unconscious evolution through natural selection to conscious evolution by choice.”

My company New Doc Films is currently developing many types of transformational films, including:

–       Character-driven documentaries that provide viewers with inspiring models of leaders who walk their transformative talk, while engaged in a specific quest;

–       Topic-based documentaries that spread innovative ideas by standing on the shoulders of and improving upon such colossal hits as “What the Bleep Do We Know!?”;

–       Personal documentaries that explore questions in my own life such as “How can we create more loving intimate relationships?” and “How can we leverage the power of intention?

As many of you know, in addition to having a thriving story consulting practice (https://newdocediting.com), I am an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose features have played at more than 150 film festivals and inspired tens of thousands of viewers.

And I teach at the #1-ranked documentary program in the country, at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.

At this time, I am looking for a film producer who meets the following criteria:

–       Has a track record raising funds for documentary films;

–       Shares my values, including an irresistible impulse to grow and a loving desire to help people improve their personal lives and human society as a whole through documentary films;

–       Has experience producing successful documentary films.

Compensation will be negotiated based on funds raised by the producer and myself.
