Accelerated Post is our fast-track editing schedule. We reduce the time of a traditional documentary edit–which can take several months–into approximately ten weeks. See a typical schedule below.
This innovative approach is for veteran and emerging filmmakers who don’t have a budget for a traditional post-production. Whether you’re just approaching post, stuck in editing, or dissatisfied with your current editor, Accelerated Post can help you finish your film in record time on a modest budget.

In our Accelerated schedule, we speed up the industry’s 4-part post-production process, turning a 6-12 month timetable into a 10-week edit. Here’s an estimate:
- Assembly Cut – 3 weeks
- Rough Cut (A and B) – 4 weeks
- Fine Cut – 2 weeks
- Locked Picture – 1 week
Our initial Assembly Cut showcases your best footage–in a sequence that’s within 40% of your final film’s total running time. Then we can evaluate what themes, characters and scenes go into the Rough Cut.
In our two Rough Cut deliverables, we do the heavy structural lifting. We’ll also introduce music, text cards, and narration if needed.
Fine Cut stage calls for micro-edits that finesse each scene, with our eye on dramatic pacing, until we get to Locked Picture.
Your vision is paramount! We’ll work hard to craft your dream film.
To start the process, we’ll guide you in culling your footage to the best 30 hours, which you then hand to our editor. (If you already have a Rough Cut, this process will go a bit faster.)
