“Connected” Got Accepted at Sundance!
Last week we received the thrilling news that one of the documentaries that I have been story consulting on for a year has been accepted at the Sundance Film Festival! We had to keep the news under wraps, but now I can proudly announce the Tiffany Shlain’s new feature documentary “Connected” will premiere at Sundance…and in the highly esteemed “competition” camp to boot!
When I first began my story consulting business, I envisioned working on important films like “Connected,” documentaries that would change the world in a profound way. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Shlain and her talented team. I invite you to check out the trailer for “Connected” at http://www.connectedthefilm.com/
The other exciting news is that a record 122 filmmakers registered for our recent teleseminar, “Transforming Your Documentary’s Rough Cut”. Some people are still listening to the content-rich recording, and that’s good news for you. I’m extending the early bird price of the Story Doctoring Kit, which I describe in the teleseminar, until Friday, December 10th. Go to:

The Story Doctoring Kit consists of eight digital files, including 3.5 hours of video tutorials, which will help transform your rough cut into an elegant fine cut. I deliberately priced it low. I wanted projects that couldn’t yet afford the level of one-on-one story consulting that “Connected” enjoyed to still be able to advantage of advanced storytelling strategies. Check out this do-it-yourself program and take your film to the next level!
Finally, if you haven’t seen the documentary “Inside Job” now playing at theaters, I recommend watching this fine piece of investigative reporting. Prolific director Charles Ferguson (“No End in Sight, 2007) does an amazing job of building suspense at the end of his powerful essay by making the bad guys on Wall Street squirm on camera. Also check out how he leaves viewers with a light-handed call to action, closing his film with only a few lines of narration after a bevy of damning interviews.
Once again, the early bird pricing for the Story Doctoring Kit ends shortly. Go to:
