Three Upcoming Grant Opportunities
First this: my colleague Carole Dean is offering her Intentional Filmmaking Class this fall, beginning September 21st. This is a phenomenal class which focuses on how to raise funds while wearing all the hats that independent filmmakers must don. Early enrollment is $630 through September 9th for 8 classes and 4 personal consultations. What a deal!
Lately we’ve been helping a number of producers apply for funding with our newgrant preparation service.
Here are three upcoming grant opportunities:
ITVS’s Diversity Development Fund is just around the corner! It gives up to $25,000 to producers of color who are in pre-production. Deadline is September 11th.
If you’re in development (filming), apply for the Catapult Film Fund which accepts applications on a rolling basis. They review and disperse grants (up to $20,000) relatively fast, within 3-4 months. You must have already secured access to your characters.
A few days ago, the Fledgling Fund began accepting applications for films that examine how climate change “exacerbates economic inequality and health disparities”. (We’re currently working with three filmmakers on this topic.) If your project will be completed within the next 6 months, go for it! The deadline is October 1st.
All of these funders (including several more) rely to some extent on the Documentary Core Application. Email me to learn how we can help you prepare this essential fundraising tool.
