You may have heard and possibly been turned off by the idea that you can attract what you want (the “law of attraction”). Despite the hype about the film “The Secret”, there is scientific evidence that when we focus on something, we are directing a part of our brain, the amygdala, which is the gatekeeper for the sensory data entering our conscious mind, to be on the lookout for anything that will bring us closer to whatever we’re focused on.
